The Small Group Training Program offers class options for students, faculty, staff and non-members with busy schedules and a commitment to regular exercise. Diverse formats serve the needs of the beginner, intermediate, advanced and the sport-specific athlete’s. Receive individual attention in a small group setting, class size not to exceed 8.Small Group Training classes are held in separate fitness activity areas depending on the class format chosen. Either in the Studio Strength Room, or the High Intensity Training (H.I.T.) Zone. Each small group training class includes a complementary pre- and post-class fitness assessment. About BSTW This progressive eight-week program teaches women basic strength training concepts through education and hands-on experiences, which will create long-term healthy habits. Participants meet twice a week to exercise and become more comfortable with strength training equipment, concluding each class with core strengthening exercises. Complimentary pre- and post-class fitness assessment included. Upgrade to the Bod Pod® for only a fraction of the cost of this class. |

About Kettlebell Training Elevate your fitness to a whole new level! Kettlebell training increases body awareness, coordination, cardiovascular fitness, muscular and core strength, as well as overall power and explosiveness. Classes meet twice a week for 4 weeks, with additional opportunities for supervised practice outside of regular class times. Pre- and post-class fitness assessments are included to track progress over time. Six consecutive months of strength training experience is required for “Beginner Kettlebell Training”. Completion of “Beginner Kettlebell Training” is required for enrollment in “Intermediate Kettlebell Training”. Instructors are certified personal trainers with the Department of Recreational Sports that have been kettlebell program design. |

About Ultimate Group Ride Reach your cardiovascular health and fitness goals with the Ultimate Group Ride!Classes meet 3 times a week for 8 weeks in the Minneapolis University Recreation and Wellness Center’s spin corridor. Cyclists will spend 60 minutes on indoor bikes. Pre- and post-class fitness assessments include Bod Pod® and VO2 max testing, which allows you to track your incredible progress over time! Two consecutive months of regular cardiovascular exercise is required for “Ultimate Group Ride”. A completion of the 8-week “Ultimate Group Ride” session required for enrollment in 12-week class. Instructors are certified personal trainers with the Department of Recreational Sports. |

Classes meet three times a week for 6 weeks in the Minneapolis University Recreation and Wellness Center’s Upper Fitness Center. Walkers and runners will spend 30 minutes on the treadmill and conclude with 15 minutes of core strengthening exercises. Pre- and post-class fitness assessments include Bod Pod® and VO2 max testing - track your incredible progress over time! Heart rate straps sold separately. Two months of regular cardiovascular exercise required for “Ultimate Group Walk/Run”. Instructors are certified personal trainers with the Department of Recreational Sports. |

About the Program Your time is now! Receive the collaborative support of a fitness coach and nutrition coach in a motivating environment where we combine habitual exercise with caloric balance to create a healthier you in just 12 weeks. Use the latest in online nutrition tracking tools to finally realize and be accountable for the lifestyle changes you always wanted to make. Your fitness and nutrition coaches will support you every step of the way! Track your progress with fitness assessments which include Bod Pod® and VO2 max testing. Select veteran fitness staff with various expertise will collaborate for 12 weeks to aid program participants in their quest to lose weight and steer toward a healthier lifestyle that include regular exercise, balanced nutrition and psychology. Fitness and nutrition coaches will combine in-person and online fitness coaching with exercise and nutrition tracking tools to keep program participants on task and accountable for decisions related to exercise and nutrition throughout the 12 weeks. Select exercise programs will be adapted based on individual needs. Fitness coaches and nutrition coach will reconnect with each client 2, 4 and 8 weeks following the conclusion of the program.
