Tri-U-Mah teams are designed for recreational and training purposes. Awards are only given out for participants competing as individuals in a specific age group. To register as a team ($100 per team), please contact Aaron Tripp, Race Director, at adtripp@umn.edu.

What is the fee?

Individuals: $65

Teams: $100 per team

*2013 registration opens on Monday, October 1st at 6:00am. Registration is non-refundable. Tax and online processing fee not included.

Where does the event take place?

The 2013 Tri-U-Mah! Indoor Triathlon will take place in the University Aquatic Center (Dorothy L. Shepard Natatorium) and the University Recreation Center. These facilities are connected, so participants will cross into the University Recreation Center to reach the next section of the triathlon. For directions and parking information, visit the Aquatic Events page.

What type of equipment is provided?

Participants are required to provide their own equipment such as swim suits, caps, and biking and running shoes. Refreshments and towels will be provided.

How are heats scheduled?

Heats will consist of 10 participants. Each heat will have 10 minutes of transition time from swim/bike and bike/run sections.

How are champions determined?

Since the amount of time spent on each section is identical for each participant (30 minutes per section), champions are determined by total distance traveled. Volunteers will record the total laps (swimming) and miles (biking and running) completed during the event. The total distance traveled will determine the champions for each age group. In addition to individual age group champions, there will be an overall male and female Tri-U-Mah! champion. To see previous champions, view the Results section below.
